Jean Greaves, who passed away on 17th February aged 93, and her devoted husband Derek, who followed her on 8th March aged 91, shared over 66 years of love and friendship. Jean, well known locally for her Hood Lane hair salon and as a college lecturer lived life with Derek, also born in Warrington, who worked as an electrical engineer at UMIST and was a dedicated member of St Joseph’s Church, Penketh. Both were long-standing Squash and Social Members of Warrington Sports Club, where they enjoyed many happy years among friends.
A joint funeral will take place on 31st March, beginning with a Mass for Derek at 11.15am at St Joseph’s Church, followed by a service of celebration for both Jean and Derek at Walton Crematorium at 12.40pm.
